I bought two sheets of 1” rigid foil faced foam from Lowe’s, trimmed them to create a 6’圆’ pad and then put interlocking foam tiles from harbor freight down over that. Insulating the floor - mine is set up on a small deck and since it will have cool air under it i figured it would be helpful to insulate underneath it. That 2 degree cooldown over that period was just enough to make it bearable to stay in that long - not an intentional feature but I rather liked it. I used the jets several times for a few mins each and after being in it for an hour the temp was 102. In reality, it was 104 at the outset which was plenty hot.
I was concerned about it cooling down while using it. 8) To summarize, owning a hot tub, even a small / inflatable one like the saluspa, is a lot of work, with many unexpected challenges and problems to solve, with a significant learning curve and MANDATORY DAILY MAINTENANCE- it is like a small pet that you have to feed daily / clean its cage.
